Gibbs is also a man of many passions, one of which includes flight. Early on in the film, however, we learn that Phil Gibbs is no ordinary pilot; he is also a priest. We follow him around on some of his everyday happenings in his life as a priest, as well as heading up into the sky with him to see the world, perhaps, 'from God's perspective.' 'Volare' confronts the issues associated both with becoming a priest and finding other things, no matter what your profession, to be passionate about and enjoy in an increasingly hectic and fast-paced world. .
