These women now chose to act as volunteers in their local communities to empower other women to speak out and act against domestic abuse and other forms of gender inequality. Their spoken testimony is combined with a visual allegory of a woman who is, at first, broken down both physically and mentally by her life experiences, but then goes on to re-establish her ability to act as a free agent; she is no longer a victim but someone who can control and change her own life, and help others to do the same.
