Today, research is mainly tied to the state's ideological agenda, and commercial interests otherwise rule. Both the state and companies have developed a taste for universities, not as places for knowledge seeking and education - but as weapons in political and commercial battles. It is obvious that freedom of thought is affected, i.a. we conservatives know that conservatism has no major chance of Swedish research support.
