Unfortunately, his senile mother-in-law Naani is staying and about to celebrate her birthday. Mrs Khan has ordered her husband to take her mother shopping for her present while she prepares a surprise birthday tea when he would prefer to be at the lunch. He manages to lose Naani and returns home telling the assembled guests that he thinks she has drowned in the canal.
