Next day he wakes up covered in blood with no recall of the night's events and learns that Pulis has been put into a coma. He approaches his sister, solicitor Lucy, for help but becomes a hero by throwing himself in front of one her clients, who is the target of an assassination by a drive by shooter. He takes the bullets meant for him and while recovering becomes seen as a selfless hero. Political fixer Jerry Durran suggests that as a local hero, Daniel should run for mayor and he obtains huge support.
