On those same hills in 2011, the filmmaker peers through the crystal ball of his camera lens in search for similar signs and omens. He finds the birds are still flying but the society is static. The pillars support little among the ruins and the Colosseum recalls past brutality. The filmmaker wonders if perhaps such cultural stasis can be counteracted by the movement of cinema.
