Almost 25 years after its completion, ...See moreLa Paz del Futuro is a personal, political and artistic journey, which follows the figure of Janet Pavone, an Italian-American muralist who joined the Sandinista revolution in Nicaragua in the 1980s. Almost 25 years after its completion, Janet is invited to return to Nicaragua and together with Dan Hopewell to restore their most monumental work: the mural "La Paz del futuro" in Quiabù, in the military base of Estelì. Through extensive use of archival materials and new footage, the film paints a portrait in motion (in space and time) of a woman who observes what remains of a series of murals and a revolution, proposing a reflection on public art, politics and the passage of time: a look from the future to the past, and vice versa.
