Focus' Africa First program is an initiative designed exclusively for filmmakers of African nationality and residence, and presents annual awards to the best and brightest from around the continent. The second installment of this program, 'Africa First: Volume Two' introduces five short films to audiences across the globe: Matthew Jankes' "Umkhungo" tells the story of a young boy with paranormal abilities; Stephen Abbot's "Dirty Laundry" provides the unexpected and comedic trails of a late night trip to the laundromat; Matthew Bishanga's "A Good Catholic Girl" provides insight into a young Muslim woman's choice to follow her heart and marry a Catholic man; Daouda Coulibaly's "Tinye So" explores the generational gap that exists in Mali; and Rungano Nyoni's "Mwansa the Great" delves into the mind of a boy whose imagination is as wild as the Zambian grasslands.
