In the collision, Doug shattered bones, helmet, bicycle - and suffered a severe traumatic brain injury. Lying in a coma for half a month, doctors and family never thought he would wake up and return to his bike. But, he did. And now he's on a mission to inspire other brain injury survivors, and surprise everyone. This Beats A Coma follows Doug's journey from coma to cross country bike journey in support of others affected by brain injury, and serves as an inspiration for everyone to live life to their fullest potential.
