Maddy is hesitant until Extreme Sixteen's deceptively friendly young producer, Gwinnifer, convinces her that the party will be low-key and exactly the way she wants it to be. Despite Charlene's warnings that Gwinnifer (and her staff of writers!) are not to be trusted, Maddy gets caught up in the party planning and ends up neglecting Julia. Feeling like she isn't needed and encouraged by a manipulative Gwinnifer to join her parents on the vacation she skipped for Maddy's birthday, Julia leaves. When Maddy realizes that Julia is missing, and suspecting that Gwinnifer is messing with her so that she'll flip out and act like a spoiled brat on the show, Maddy decides to take matters into her own hands.
