More than 450,000 years ago, the cave was used as a "table bin", as evidenced by the quantity of animal bones that still litter its floor today. Lions, bears, reindeer and mouflons used to spawn in the paths of the Catalan hinterland and drink from the river below. 2021. Around the river, there are now the humans of the post-covid era: holidaymakers, winegrowers, archaeologists, workers and car park attendants. Different visions clash over the occupation of this coveted place: a "water war" breaks out and the Gouleyrous beaches become an agora.
