He's an excellent musician, and a good, loving person. But nothing in his life reflects back his own excellence, goodness or love. His home life was, putting it as nicely as possible, dysfunctional. His love life is, well, let's say it's "uniquely complicated." And his professional life continues to be a Mount Everest of challenges. It seems that on almost a daily basis he is challenged to survive one catastrophe, only to immediately be hit in the face with another. Wrong choices? Not being in the right place at the right time? Hard to say. Yet he forges ahead, trying to have a positive outlook. But how will he make it through still another day like this? Is there any hope for fulfillment and lasting solace for poor Joey?
