The other cowboys ride out to search and find two Kawshone, Spotted Calf and Sleek Elk. Spotted Calf is arrested, while Sleek Elk escapes back to the tribe for reinforcements. The Chief calls Saber Rider, who was a childhood friend and blood brother of Sleek Elk. The Star Sheriffs arrive and try to prevent a range war. Colt and Fireball agree to guard Spotted Calf, while Saber and the Chief search for who was really behind the attack. While on duty, a smoke grenade is lobbed into the jail. Colt and Fireball wake up in the cell, and Spotted Calf is missing. Saber Rider has a tomahawk duel with Sleek Elk to try to prevent a range war.
