Douma was born in New York, placed in an orphanage at the age of two and adopted at six. In 1973 Rev. Douma founded Camp Penuel on Lake Killarney in Ironton, MO, which has expanded to Camp Penuel East in Eldred, PA, and to Esparsa, Costa Rica. Camp Penuel works with service agencies and churches to enroll children ages 7-11 in their communities and neighborhoods.
