This three day battle resulted in the loss of thousands of lives, and tested the limits of both armies capabilities. Both sides accomplished their goals - the U.S. infantry assaulted and forced the North Vietnamese to withdraw from their Central Highlands staging grounds, at least temporarily, while the North Vietnamese learned how to negate the American's air power by engaging in close quarters combat.
