Pioneers chasing the sun in hopes of a better life out west. At the mercy of this untamed land tragic events force the youngest member of the family, a deaf/mute boy named Epp to fend for himself. That is until he crosses paths with a renegade Indian girl. A mute herself and without a tribe, she is on the run from local authorities for horse rustling and murder. Begrudgingly stuck together in the girls hideout a friendship begins to blossom, one that is based on empathy, necessity and a common understanding.
