Released into the waters off the US East Coast by unsatisfied pet owners and the destruction of an aquarium by hurricane Andrew, the unabated proliferation of lionfish threatens life on and around the local coral reefs. What's more, Lionfish are a formidable adversary as their venomous tentacles are loaded with a toxin whose potency makes the fish an excellent predator and dangerous to fishermen and divers.
