It center's around two very different characters in every sense, who are isolated by the individual guilt they experiencing. It is this isolation is what ultimately draws them to one another without explanation. Albert is a tortured artist who is a Purest and a firm Marxist at heart, forced to surrender his beliefs due to mounting debt. Bev is a single mother living on a council estate. After her son is sent to prison is faced with the realization that this was possibly due to the choices she made as a parent.
