Maurice invites his best friend Simon, who is joined by Caroline. They want to have a nice time and go hiking. Caroline exceeds Frances' tolerable limits. Frances is skeptical and keeps her distance from Caroline. Maurice does not notice any of it, so he is having fun with Caroline. Simon instead is concerned it was not good to bring Caroline with him.
