At first, police treat the case as a homicide, due to her home's uncleanliness and the baby's bloody appearance. However, the real cause of death and aftermath are more shocking, discovered only after the baby is autopsied. Esteemed writer Sherwood Anderson, former literary member of the 1920s Algonquin Round Table, finds his career and circle of friends diminishing in 1941. Though not feeling or looking well, he decides to take a trip to South America with his wife, where his popularity is booming. Stomach problems begin to plague him on the ship. Blamed on hangovers, then food-poisoning, Anderson's condition worsens, until he must be transported to dry land. Days later, he dies painfully in hospital. Wife Eleanor orders an autopsy for her 65 year-old husband. His initial cause of death, though, ought to be a cautionary lesson to us all. Written by
