Sheldon tells Lois about his previous night's date, who was attracted to a man sitting at the next table with HIS date. Lois explains to Sheldon the many reasons that women are attracted to a "taken" man. When a new flute player, Madison Harper, is introduced to the orchestra, Sheldon decides to test this theory by having Lois pose as his girlfriend to attract the attentions of Madison.
