This self-sustaining technique, called "biointensive", is based on the work of long-time farming activist John Jeavons. Using Jeavons' basic techniques as well as basic principles handed down by their forefathers, Samuel and Peris have transformed a community and have reached over 5000 farmers in Kenya alone. Their "movement" towards sustainable and organic farming continues to spread rapidly as farmers adopt these very simple but wildly successful techniques. GROW explores their inspirational work.
