This 90-minute special will serve as a continuation of the network's commitment to telling the complete Shackleton story following the previously aired "Endurance: The Hunt for Shackleton's Ice Ship" which chronicled the first, ground-breaking expedition to locate the lost ship by the same leadership team on the same vessel in 2019. The two-hour documentary, which originally aired on November 28, 2020 as part of the series "History's Greatest Mysteries," was the result of two years of planning and over $250 million spent in technology utilizing the same vessel, the S.A.
