It's now widely recognized as a trendy area due to recent developments of high-rise condominiums, department stores, hotels, and other buildings. The mood changes drastically however once you enter Kawasaki Ward, located in the easternmost part of the city. The coastal area is part of the Keihin Industrial Zone, where reclaimed land is still being built today. The area is home to a large petroleum complex, steel mills, and many other factories, making it an unpopular choice for residents due to ""the worst air quality in Japan."" Ikegamicho, which is located inside Kawasaki Ward is home to Hip Hop crew Bad Hop. VICE investigates what life is like in this area and how that influences their music.
