Since the shooter wore a masked Halloween costume, witnesses could only see a brunette female, fleeing via truck. Within minutes, Shawna Nelson, former 911 dispatcher was summoned and questioned. The motive? She and one-time coworker, Officer Ignacio Garraus, are tangled up in a volatile affair. After Nelson's recent pregnancy (her husband had a vasectomy) the love triangle turned into town gossip. As in a soap opera, accusations of obsession, stalking, threats, blackmail and jealousy are fueled. Yet Shawna Nelson is blonde, and police only focused on her.
