Entering a deserted, dilapidated Georgian mansion the woman is drawn to a floor-standing mirror where she catches her reflection, strangely glimpsing a puppet version of herself within. Distracted by the sounds of puppets leading a parallel life, the woman's journey around this labyrinthine house leads her from curiosity to desperation. The puppets' diversions give Gepetto and Pinocchio time to collaborate on the construction of a 'lookalike' replica of the woman, bringing it to life! This 'lookalike' walks up to a miniature floor-standing mirror, and sees the reflection of the real woman's face, now trapped inside. So this is how the place came to be populated by puppets...
