Frightened, he runs away. He calls the town constable, the judge, he calls the fire department consisting of a fireman, the grocer and other leading citizens of the town. Each one is determined to solve the mystery of the haunted hat, but the courage leaves them after they see the slowly moving hat along the streets of the borough.
