In his bleak world, all he seems to do is waste time. She seems to have given up on life. His desperate cries to the heavens go unanswered. She wanders aimlessly in circles. Their paths oppose each other. He attempts to comfort himself exercising the only power he seems to have: extinguishing light, and dropping out of sight. He can barely stand to watch as the sun sets. He wanders in solitude, and runs through a doorway to the unknown. He gazes up at her with remorse on his face as she looks down at him angrily until he is nothing. As they pass each other, he tries to grab her attention, but he finds himself sitting alone again. The writer wakes up, apparently having dreamt the rest of the story, and hurries to record the dream. Written by
