Originally inspired by Von Triers 2001 Documentary dogma, McClean was 'filming for sound' on the day of the unexpected event. The film has a reticent voyeurism made more pertinent by the use of improvised word performance in the soundtrack and the choice subtitling of Dutch and German language.
