Dissatisfied with Doris's gloomy script,he does a re-write which earns the praise of the cast as well as the sinister mystery caller. Sex with leading lady Butch Beausoleil is followed by a night in the sack with Martina,happy to be comforted after Ossie's dumping her for Selina but then Selina turns up to sabotage John and Martina's relationship. The mystery caller is revealed. He is a person who has been out for revenge all along and there is no film and no money for John,who returns to London. All his belongings are re-possessed and he learns his real father is the landlord at his local pub but he is happy to go into business with him,using money left by his mother years earlier.
