As the EXPO exhibition is held on the Arabian Peninsula, Jirí Potuzník was thinking of how to make the desert more fertile and came up with an idea for a solution. He initiated a project to create a unit called S.A.W.E.R. Seven people are involved in assembling it and testing it in laboratories and then in desert conditions, and with each of them the director brings a small personal story - we find out how they live, how they work and how they think about the world. The story of the creation of S.A.W.E.R. is set in the larger context of the problem of water scarcity in many areas of the world. Let There Be Water. is the brainchild of award-winning writer and director Karel Zalud. The film is co-produced by the Czech Television and Komercní banka (which supports start-ups and research and development). The film was also supported by the Czech Film Fund. See less
