Made in 2D cut out animation made from elephant dung paper this quaint tale follows the story of a young mahout and his elephant, through to his marriage to a beautiful, but jealous Karen girl. The story takes on a twist when the lonely wife's greed gets the better of her and she gradually transforms... the elephant eventually has to leave and as the couple get more and more frustrated in their relationship, the head man finally helps them to find true love. The original story is believed to be the reason why the Karen are such good mahouts. This is Millie Young's second animation. She started research for this in 2001 having won an award for 'Tally Bloody ho!' in 2000. Meeting up with internationally renown elephant expert Richard Lair at the National Elephant Institute and award winning conservationist Sangduen 'Lek' Chailert. Milllie has developed work with the elephants that paint, the Thai Elephant Orchestra and illustrated a book, 'Boon' which was written by Lek about the Street begging elephants in Thailand's cities. The research with elephants has led Millie to relocate to Thailand where she now teaches Photography at Assumption University and continues to develop work about the elephants. Written by
