One day he receives a letter from Nikolai Efimov, a man whom he considered guilty of the death of his mother, who died in a terrible fire. In a telegram, a man who had just been released from prison promised to tell Kirill the name of the real criminal. At a meeting with the major, the former prisoner tells that not only Kirill's mother and the founder of Sexta Oil Shipov died in the fire, but also Efimov's brother. The arson was committed by one of the windmill brothers, bandits who, after the tragedy, became the founders of an oil company. Out of fear for his family, Efimov was forced to confess to a crime he did not commit. Now, left alone, he wants Kirill to punish the real killers. See less
