What is special is that the entire film, in which no words are spoken, is set to music that supports the images of nature. Moments of tranquility are thereby enhanced, and imposing or exciting parts become even more impressive. Spies's camera captures it all: river crossings, volcanoes, waterfalls, brightly colored vegetation, time-lapses of threatening cloudscapes, geothermal activity, glacial lakes and encounters with various animals. The richness of color and variety of the volcanic landscape are overwhelming. Parts of the rugged interior especially capture the imagination.
