Bützow Prison was notorious for being overfull and delapidated. It was here that Siegfried, Bruno and Klaus served sentences of several years, cooped up in one-man cells. Worn down by endless interrogation and violence, they confessed to everything they were accused of: espionage, subversive agitation, being a threat to the defence preparedness of the GDR.
