So he decides to set off on a voyage of mum-discovery, prodding friends and relatives to recount their memories of his often stormy relationship with her. At the same time he decides to run the London Marathon, dressed as a giant lemon. Which is the bigger challenge: to run a marathon or to let the memory of his mum back in his life?
