Sixteen years later, GRIMM RE-EDIT is the result of a new editing with new image, sound and music. GRIMM RE-EDIT is a modern fairy tale that begins as a variation on Hansel and Gretel and gradually changes into a road movie, thriller and western. The film begins in a wintry Dutch landscape where a penniless man leaves his son and daughter, Jacob (Jacob Derwig) and Marie (Halina Reijn), in the woods. A note from their mother summons them to go to an uncle in Spain. Once in Spain, Marie falls in love with a rich surgeon who lives with his taciturn sister. There is no place for Jacob anymore.
