Through the discovery of this "John Doe's" divine musical skill the doctor forges a friendship with him. After the hospital wants nothing more to do with deformed musician, the good doctor takes him away to play in theaters and concerts halls. However, it isn't long before the doctor grows greedy and the friendship disintegrates. The events culminate when a figure from the John Doe's past returns and takes him away to a strange and magical place and the doctor must follow to protect in hot pursuit.
