The film Laila presents the meeting between a young woman(Ileana Puiu) and her Muslim father(Mazen Rifai) , who came to Brasov after many years of absence. The relationship between the two is a difficult one both due to the lack of the father in the girl's life, but also to the obvious cultural barrier.
