Having come from unhappy marriages, both are now divorced and free to pursue each other. However, Anton's son, Dania mistakenly believes that Masha is only after his father's money and tries unsuccessfully to split them up. Later, after their marriage, Anton leaves for a mountaineering expedition, and Dania decides to use this opportunity to drive his new stepmother out of their home once and for all.
