A longtime family friend, he has always watched out for her. But when her friend Jeff fails at the job she secured for him, even popping pills and drinking at work, Thomas makes clear that she needs to save herself, at Jeff's expense. Sandra goes along with the dismissal, and Jeff's attraction to her, combined with a sense of betrayal, lead him to become dangerously obsessed.
