What Alyssa discovers is that the land she is tasked to buy is owned by her family, and more specifically her father Harris with whom she has a very distant and explosive relationship. As the story progresses, Alyssa must come to terms with her past love Josh Reardon, her present dilemma, and her future decisions as she navigates the turbulent waters of a past that haunts her, a present that pressures her, and a future that holds both the promise of success and the perils of failure.
