Deprived of both legs during the war, the man now sells holders for ID cards, tram and railway cards. Then the man moves on the platform around the bustling Defilady Square and observes the legs of the characters appearing in the film - children, soldiers, and even sculptures carved on the front of the Palace. Freezing legs, legs spinning the pedals of bicycles, legs splashing water in the fountain. Under the influence of emotions, the cripple rushes down the stairs and runs into an oncoming car. He is picked up by a crowd of onlookers and heroically seated on the lid of a garbage can. In a moment he is leaving on his platform through a silent line of spectators. Written by
