The film was created with the philosophy in mind of utilizing emerging and existing technologies in the story to inspire engineering minds to work on solutions to the plight of land mines that are a persistent and lethal threat to untold millions of civilians around the world. In the process of making the movie, the director partnered up with prominent roboticists and the moral vision of the technology (enabling a land mine-sniffing rat to be able to communicate to a human when it finds a land mine) is on its way to fruition with prototype field tests scheduled in Tanzania this June.
