Rebecca is back from college for the semester and has confined herself to her room to avoid her mother. Debra is unhappily downstairs, resenting a daughter she has little in common with and a husband who has little in common with her. Frank is ensconced in his business lair in the basement, staying in touch with his sales force more closely than with his wife and daughter. This is a family stretched to the breaking point.
