After an endoscopy and X-ray examination, it is quickly determined that one of Djuna's lung lobes is severely infected. The mixed breed must be operated on immediately - it is a matter of life and death. The seriously ill dog is very weak and even has to be resuscitated by Dr. Neuberger during the operation. After the dramatic procedure, Djuna is still unable to breathe properly. So back to the operating room immediately. Will the medical duo succeed in giving Djuna a second life? Veterinarian Stephanie Petersen has been running her own practice for almost 20 years. Even as a little girl, she wanted to be a veterinarian, but before that she took a detour as a flight attendant. Animals are also her great passion in her private life: On her farm there are five dogs, three of which she rescued from killing stations, 17 chickens and even her own Trakehner breeding. The 47-year-old reveals why she ended up on the island of Sylt, when she spent her youth in Kassel. Today the island vet is expecting a rare sight: four furry friends. On the North Sea island of Sylt, which is also very popular with dog owners, four Eurasier ladies are coming to the practice of island vet Stephanie Petersen. The Eurasier is a German, not yet so well-known dog breed that is causing quite a stir even on the dog island of Sylt. Makani, the youngest of the cuddly pack, is to get her first rabies vaccination. How important are rabies vaccinations anyway? And can a vaccination like this not do more harm than good? The vet explains the situation to the owner. Veterinarian Sita Meinzer has only recently become self-employed - the risk of a lifetime The practice of the young veterinarian Dr. Sita Meinzer is located in the small town of Moosburg in Bavaria. She became self-employed a year and a half ago - the risk of a lifetime. Dr. Meinzer is now responsible for the personnel of six employees and temporary workers, and is on duty seven days a week. A touching case awaits veterinarian Sita Meinzer in today's consultation. Wolfgang Trwaniczek is very worried about his cat Boncuc. The elderly cat has been vomiting constantly for days and hardly wants to eat. Boncuc has never been ill before and has led a carefree cat life. Dr. Meinzer wants to get to the bottom of the cause and has to take a blood sample from Boncuc to rule out the worst fears. Unfortunately, older animals often have multiple illnesses, it could even be a tumor and in the worst case scenario Boncuc would have to be put down. But until the results are available, we have to hope for the best. Written by
