She and the nurse and baby go to the park and she sees a stork, and the nurse tells her that the bird brought her little brother, She decides to make it take back the intruder. While her nurse's attention is distracted, she removes the baby and leaves him by the stork pond. Some time before this, she had investigated the pail of a workman who is tarring a tree. When the nurse returns, she finds the print of a black hand on the bench where the baby was. It is quite clear to the police that the child was taken by the Black Hand. Angela has had a quarrel with her lover, Angelo, over the fact that she has no dowry so cannot marry him. She is weeping in the park when she hears the baby's cries and goes to him. Her pity overcomes her and she takes him home. Angelo, returning to beg her pardon, finds the child and is suspicious. The girl then explains how she found the baby. He discovers the print of a black hand on his clothes. They are terrified and decide to return the child to where they found him, but before they can, they are arrested and taken to the station house where they meet the unhappy parents. A now-repentant Runa confesses, and when the baby is restored, the father and mother embrace her. She leaves the print of her little black hands on her mother's dress--all is then discovered. She explains that she returned the baby to the stork because since it came nobody loves her anymore. Father and mother, realizing how they have hurt her, forgive her. Angela gets her dowry through the reward offered by the father for the one who finds his child. Written by Moving Picture World synopsis See less
