When he returns home, he and Megan begin attending AA meetings and Megan meets Koa, a spiritual free-spirit who introduces her to the new age lifestyle, Luminescence. Megan believes her father may benefit from the healing practice so she and Todd enter into Luminescence under Koa's guidance in an attempt to reconnect as a family but Todd ultimately chooses the path of infatuation over his relationship with Megan and leaves town with Koa indefinitely.
