Set in the fictional town of Abalone, Arizona, whose inhabitants epitomize ordinary Americans as they are simultaneously backhandedly celebrated and lovingly pilloried for their emergent reactions to the wonders of magic and of everyday life. The film was script was written by Charles Beaumont which has a stellar cast of character actors and Tony Randall playing seven roles including the title character. The film would receive a special Academy Award for make-up and nomination for special effects. Interesting facts about the film is that the Crystal Ball and Hourglass from the Wizard of Oz makes an appearance in the film along with the two headed turtle which would be featured in The Adams Family for a few episodes.
