After the end of the fighting, a camera team of the US Signal Corps films a group of children and youths in dark uniform coats. Who these boys are and where they come from is not immediately recognizable. The film describes the further research in a streamlined form. In this context, the life path of the Hungarian writer Géza Ottlik and his work "School at the Frontier" is briefly outlined.
